Hicks: 'Game of Thrones' star has terminal cancer

"Games of Thrones" star Wilko Johnson has terminal cancer.

The former Dr. Feelgood guitarist and songwriter, who plays mute executioner Ser Ilyn Payne on "Game of Thrones," has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and is declining chemotherapy, according to a message posted to Johnson's Facebook page by his manager, Robert Hoy.

But the 65-year-old Johnson will keep going as long as possible.

"He is currently in good spirits, is not yet suffering any physical effects and can expect to enjoy at least another few months of reasonable health and activity," Hoy's post continued, detailing Johnson's plans to finish a new CD, tour France, give a series of farewell concerts in the U.K. and release a live DVD from his last U.K. tour.

"Wilko wishes to offer his sincere thanks for all the support he has had over his long career, from those who have worked with him to, above all, those devoted fans and admirers who have attended his live gigs, bought his recordings and generally made his life such an extraordinarily full and eventful experience."

Johnson was a founding member of pub-rock band Dr. Feelgood, which is often cited as a key influence on the burgeoning punk scene in Britain in the 1970s.

Johnson is said to of caught the attention of the "Game of Thrones" casting team with his appearance in the 2009 documentary "Oil City Confidential." He played tongueless royal executioner Ilyn Payne in the critically acclaimed

HBO show's first two seasons.

BRITNEY SPEARS BAILING ON 'X FACTOR': Britney Spears is walking away from "X Factor," according to TMZ.

The website says Spears loves the show -- and really, who wouldn't love getting $15 million to sit and make funny faces at people who don't sing very well -- but Spears supposedly wants to focus on her music. She's reportedly in the studio right now making a new record.

Well, I don't know if she's in there right this very second, but you know ...

The yet-to-be-titled record will be Spears' eighth. She's either being produced or getting writing help from will.i.am and producer Hit-Boy.

TMZ's source said "Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato, but her thing is music."

Well, of course it is. Hasn't Spears always been mostly about her music?

Silence.

After the record is done, Spears may tour again, said TMZ. Which might account for why she won't have time for a second season.

DESTINY'S CHILD TO RELEASE NEW RECORD: Beyonce has announced that Destiny's Child will release a new record later this month.

Obviously, Beyonce's solo career tanked and she's come crawling back.

The album "Love Songs" comes out in late January, the band's first album since 2004's "Destiny Fulfilled," according to the Huffington Post.

The Amazon pre-order page for the album describes the project as a collection of previously recorded "romantic gems" -- with the addition of "Nuclear," a new song produced by Pharrell Williams. That song was written by Pharrell, Michelle Williams, James Fauntleroy and Lonny Bereal. Beyonce and Bereal provided vocal production.

"I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny's Child music in eight years!" Beyonce wrote, on her website.

The group split in 2005 following their successful "Destiny Fulfilled and Lovin' It Tour" to focus on their solo careers. Their last live performance was at the 2006 NBA All-Star Game, where the group sang "The Star Spangled Banner."

Last August, Rowland shot down rumors of a new album, telling Jam there were no plans for a new project or tour.

"We don't want to scratch each other's eyes out; we love each other too much," said Rowland. If (reuniting is) something that we would want to do, you know, (we would do it) but in the meantime we're just enjoying each other's friendship. That's the greatest gift of Destiny's Child."

Right. But I bet the fat residual checks don't hurt.

It's already become a busy year for Beyonce, who signed a $50 million deal with Pepsi, is headlining the Super Bowl halftime show and will release a new solo album. She also covers this month's GQ.

"Love Songs" will be available for purchase on Jan. 29.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE READY TO RECORD AGAIN: Justin Timberlake is ready to make music again.

Translation: Maybe this acting thing didn't go the way I planned.

In an black-and-white clip in which the camera follows Timberlake as he walks into the studio, the singer-actor talks about where his music career went.

"Someone asked me the other day, 'So are you just done with music?'" he says softly, his slight Southern accent audible. "It means more to me than anybody else in the world."

Have you broke that news to the new wife yet, JT?

"Like I've only done two albums in 10 years, that's the way I really look at it," he said on. "What does the next decade mean for me?

"I'm the one who sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it," Timberlake said. "As close as I get to it, I don't know that I could physically torture myself that much year in and year out and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now.

"I don't wanna put anything out that I feel like is something that I don't love," he says. "You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it. I'm ready."

Translation: Maybe this acting thing didn't go the way I planned.

There's now an official countdown to something. When we hear, you'll hear.

JUSTIN BIEBER SUED FOR ASSAULT: Justin Bieber assaulted one of his Israeli bodyguards and berated the former soldier after a disagreement, according to a lawsuit filed by the former bodyguard.

That's right - Justin Bieber assaulted a former Israeli soldier. Right -- THAT Justin Bieber. Yes, the one that's about the size of a squirrel.

According to TMZ, Moshe Benabou, an ex-member of the Israeli army, says he worked for the singer from March 2011 to Oct. 2012. He says berated him and punched him in the chest multiple times during a disagreement about how to handle a member of Bieber's entourage.

Well, that's not an easy situation that many, many of us can relate to. Take it from me -- sometimes one's posse gets out of hand and something needs to be done. Sometimes a gangsta must display a firm hand.

Benabou is seeking unspecified damages for assault and battery, along with more than $420,000 in unpaid overtime.

Sources in Bieber's camp told TMZ Benabou is a "disgruntled employee looking for money." They say the claim that Bieber struck him is "absurd."

If Justin Bieber ever hit me, and I found out about it, there would be trouble too.

As for why Benabou was fired, sources said he told multiple lies, including that he worked closely with Justin Timberlake before being hired by Bieber, whose people supposedly discovered he never worked for Timberlake.

That just ain't right ... dog.

You may recall, Benabou got into a physical confrontation with a photographer at LAX back in February. After a brief struggle, both men fell to the ground, and Benabou landed a pretty solid punch while the pap was being restrained by another person.

Bieber must have caused that poor man a lot of pain.

CHARLIE SHEEN PAYS FOR FUNERAL: Charlie Sheen should be careful, or people might start thinking he's a decent human being.

In what was either a well-timed PR move, or a simple gesture of goodwill, Sheen is covering a big chunk of the funeral costs for the paparazzo who died last week covering Justin Bieber, cutting a $12,000 check to the photographer's family, according to TMZ.

Chris Guerra died after being struck by a car in Los Angeles on New Year's Day while taking pictures of Bieber's car. The website reported the photographer will be laid to rest Friday in a private service.

Sheen happens to be friends with a former photog who was friends with Guerra. He supposedly heard the family was trying to raise money to cover the costs. So Sheen -- who was more money than any mortal could ever need -- grabbed his checkbook. Which he seems to be doing a lot of lately for various people, including Lindsay Lohan, who received $100,000 from Sheen to cover her back taxes.

After being contacted by TMZ, Sheen released a statement saying "A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It's an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future. As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved."
